Description:

"Any dream will do!"
One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song, this musical follows Joseph through the book of Genesis as he receives a wonderful, multi-colored coat from his father, leading him to be betrayed by his jealous brothers and sold as a slave. When he winds up in Egypt, he quickly finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh! God's provision allows Joseph to rise to the position of Pharaoh's right-hand man, managing the food supply for the entire empire of Egypt during a famine. Ultimately, this lack of food prompts a destined encounter between Joseph's once-jealous, now hungry brothers, and Joseph himself.

This thrilling musical is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from a parody of French ballads, to country-western and even calypso, along with the unforgettable classics “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.” This incredible Biblical story of hope, faith, and forgiveness is sure to leave audiences smiling!

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is set to be showcased at the Perkinson Center for the Arts & Education, pending final confirmation.
